They went with Granola.
Your trial users leave without saying why. WentWith asks them, minutes after they go, and tells you who they chose instead and which decision broke.
For Seed-stage, product-led B2B SaaS. The founding cohort starts January 5, 2027. See a sample month-end readout.
You tried Quillbee but didn't go ahead with it. What are you using instead?
Granola. A teammate already had it.
What happened between signing up and deciding?
I set it up on Monday and by Wednesday it still hadn't joined a single meeting.
Your exit survey says "not the right fit." Your users would say a lot more.
Analytics show where trial users dropped off. A dropdown survey gets a shrug. Neither tells you which rival or workaround won, or why. A two-minute conversation does.
What you get today
- Too expensive
- Not the right fit
- Missing a feature
- Other
That's the whole record. And most trial users who never paid don't see a survey at all.
What you get from one WentWith interview
Went with Granola named competitor
Gave up after calendar sync failed twice; Granola worked on the first call. Price never came up.
- Decision that failed
- Buy: got partway to first value
- Shift not made
- Access: “It works in my setup”
- Confidence
- High
I set it up on Monday and by Wednesday it still hadn't joined a single meeting.
- Habits / Allegiances
typing notes into Notion during calls
- Pushes
losing details from investor calls
- Desires
walk out of a call with the follow-up already written
- Avoidances
missing what a customer actually promised
- Pulls
saw Granola work live on a friend's call
- Anxieties
missing another important call
How it works
Set up takes one call. After that, every lost trial is asked within minutes, and the answer comes to you.
A trial ends unpaid
Your analytics tool (PostHog, Segment or Amplitude) or Stripe tells WentWith a trial ended without paying, or went quiet.
They're invited, in your name
A short email within minutes. No pitch and no discount, just a question about what they chose.
A two-minute AI interview
Five questions in their own words: what they use instead, what they hoped for, what they got done, and what won.
You get the answer
A record in your inbox minutes after every interview, and a 30-minute readout with John Gusiff in week 4.
Every lost trial is a failed decision. WentWith tells you which one.
Each interview is coded with Jobs-to-be-Done switch-interview methods, so you know what to fix, not just what happened.
"I was just curious what it did."
They signed up without a real struggle. The decision to act never happened.
Fix: targeting and acquisition
"I never got it connected to my calendar."
The struggle was real, but they never reached first value, so they never decided to buy.
Fix: onboarding and time to value
"It worked, but my team already had Granola."
They saw the value and still chose something else.
Fix: positioning, pricing, the case for switching
Try the interview as a lost trial user
Play someone who trialed Quillbee, an AI meeting-notes app, and didn't pay. Answer honestly or make it up. When you finish, you'll see the record the founder would get.
Text only for now; voice comes later. It takes about two minutes.

Questions
Is this a cancel flow?
No. WentWith never offers discounts, extensions or saves, and says so to every participant. It runs beside any cancel flow you already use. Honest answers come from people who know their decision is respected.
Who gets interviewed?
Only trial users you send us through your analytics or Stripe events, when a trial ends unpaid or goes quiet. Each person is invited once, in your name, and nothing is recorded without their consent.
Who owns the data?
You do. WentWith processes interviews on your behalf, keeps transcripts for 90 days after the pilot unless you continue, and deletes on request. Pooling into the Switching Index is optional for you and for each participant.
Is it voice or text?
The founding cohort runs on text. Voice interviews are on the way.
Who's behind WentWith?
John Gusiff, founder of Customer Centric Solutions LLC in Seattle, WA. He runs Jobs-to-be-Done switch interviews for B2B founders, has worked with brands including lululemon, Citibank and Humana, and built WentWith to run those interviews at the moment a trial is lost.
